Disk space utilization for backups -- MIDRANGE-L

Hi all,
Can someone share thoughts how to address backups for some non important files on nightly basis and back them up directly to tape sothat it does not occupy disk space, these files are used once in a while so saving them in save file onto disk is not an option. We want to manage
