Oh...the third definition...totally...especially if Domino was involved.

What's your definition of a big i installation?
- A compound full of the largest Power 6 machines with only one tiny lpar
running i5/OS? The rest run AIX or Linux.
- A place with all of their distributorships, numbering in the thousands,
running the smallest power 6 using i on each?
- A place with a 9117-MMA, 8203-E4A, 9408-M25 with 12 lpars of which 10
run i and 2 run Linux?
- Or do you base it on number of W4 employees or annual sales? Or brand
recognition as performed by an independent marketing group?

So who are some of the companies in the LUG? Or better yet (if that's
double
secret), what are some big i installations? Costco is one. I know that
because of the hiring ads.

Main requirement for LUG is the amount of combined CPU you have. (At
least from what I've been told.)

You have to apply for membership in the LUG(Large Users Group). All who
apply do not make it in.

Keep this in mind, Dekko barely qualifies as a member to the LUG and I
think that only occurred after our last upgrade. We've not joined LUG
yet

though.

Summary: Targeting only "Large" companies puts a damper on your
potential

market. However if your point is that you can beat the board over the
head with some big names running i that's a different matter.

I was actually asking about "the" LUG http://as400lug.com/default.aspx
Say

this in a recent iSeries news article

That's up to the individual LUG's. Whether they publish a list on their
websites, supply one upon request, or refuse out of concern that someone
may be looking for a marketing list is up to that group. Most LUG's
have
a contact info or a listing of their board members that you could
contact
for information.

Might there be a list of LUG members available somewhere I could get my
hands on? I work at a college and I have been keeping a list of
companies
that user iSeries as I see articles about them and then show that list
to
the administrators who decide on what gets to be part of the IT majors
curriculum. The list of LUG members might be a nice addition to my list.

Thanks
