I still have 3 of these, all a little different. I also have WSU/$SFGR Debugging Template. His template does have a nice chart of the command keys number, function/indicator and rpg II indicators.
I can remember when this was the state of the art! You were not a real programmer unless you had 1 or 2 of these templates in your pocket. Don't even get me started about using the old punch boards.

I remember those, never used one though except to lay out reports. SEU kind of made them obsolete.

Here's a pic of the debugging template that I have for anyone interested...sorry for the poor quality.

The template, Mark, allowed programmers to ascertain what values were
entered where when reading a program listing. At least on a 10 cpi listing. For example, A COMP B 64 doesn't quite tell you whether the 64
is>,<, or =. The template was particularly useful when debugging

specs. There was also a template for S&D specs (display formats on the S/34/36), which I also have (why do I keep these things and throw away the manuals?). In brief, the debugging template looked like the headings on the coding forms or, since many of our readers have probably never seen (much less used) a coding form, like the format heading in SEU or WDSc.

The templates were particularly useful back in the day when we had to
submit our programs for compilation to a system operator, and all we had to deal with was a compiler listing. Since they were for fixed-format RPG II and III, they are not very useful today. Except as a straight-edge when drawing a line in the sand.

Mark--

You can only use them if you're programming using the RPG Cycle... (:
