Just a reminder that the election for the COMMON Board of Directors is open
and if you are the member representative, you should cast your ballot for
the candidates. There is a great slate of candidates, and I would urge you
to read their bios, ask them questions, read their interviews, find out
where they stand, what they have done for the organization, and what they
hope to accomplish as members of the board. Remember, COMMON is YOUR user
group, so please cast your vote carefully to select the next group of
leaders of this great organization.

By the way, Orlando will be the 50th anniversary for COMMON,
and it is shaping up to be a fantastic event. Attendance is up, great
sessions with lots of information about IBM i 7.1, great speakers, and a
really nice hotel should make 4 days fun, exciting, and extremely
educational. I look forward to seeing you there. David has setup a list
called common-gathering@xxxxxxxxxxxx so we know who is coming to COMMON.
Please post onto that list if you are attending. It's always great putting
faces with email addresses/names, hopefully we can all get together at one
of the powerdown social events. While the i community is quite large and
diverse, we are all brought closer together by forums like this and
networking at COMMON. If you have never been to COMMON, you will find a
great connection with the i community as you get involved with the people,
network with your peers, and volunteer.
