A couple of questions and ideas.

Are you planning on removing the old system? Would the ERP related programs run satisfactorily if they were the only thing running on the older system. If you are keeping the old system and the performance would be acceptable then you may have a couple of options.

1. Either use the Lansa for the WEB as a cross platform integration tool , some assembly required :) , or use a vendor supplied cross platform integration tool.

2. Use the old system to drive the processes on the new system where the old system acts as a front end. This would still require either a home grown or 3rd party cross platform integration tool.

In option 1, the old system acts as the back end process. In option 2, the old system acts as the front end process.

If you are removing the old system, it may still be a possibility to build an IBM i partition to act as the older system for the ERP tools so that you don't have to pay the license fees for the additional processing power. Of course, fees savings, if any, would depend on how the licenses are written.

Just a couple of thoughts to, perhaps, get the creative juices working on new alternatives.

We have already essentially re-written the MPS/MRP generation programs
in Lansa for the WEB.
