I figured I might end up in QSH. This is an interesting approach.
I'll
have to figure out how to leverage it. The Java program is actually
called from RPG so I was using CL to set the CLASSPATH there. However,
there might be some way to handle it this way.

Another solution *might* be similar to this:

Set environment variables thusly:

PTH1=/path1:/path2:/path3...
PTH2=/path41:/path42:...
PTH3=...
CLASSPATH=${PTH1}:${PTH2}:{$PTH3}

Note that I have not tried this with ADDENVVAR. I have done this in
various Unix many times. Hopefully you can come up with better names, et
cetera.
