Personally, I use my network logon script (Windows domain) to map an IFS drive to my computer. Unfortunately, the (uneducated) Powers_That_Be decided years ago to impose an arbitrary 4-character limit on AS400 usernames, so naturally none of our modern Windows Network accounts match our AS400 accounts. *sigh*

Anyway...when my login script executes, it waits for me to input my alternate credentials for that AS400 share. It does this in a command prompt, so it is a tad bit inelegant for me to provide as a function to my users, but it works well enough for me. I think I could provide an alternate username directly in the Windows login script, but I am not sure about providing the password (I suspect it will require me to enter it in a prompt).

This is just my experience, and there may be much better ways. But, we do not have the luxury without _significant_ redesign of most of our system to get our network account names/passwords to match those on our AS400. :(
