From recent experience.my recommendation would be to not put the later cume
package on after the V5R4M5 upgrade ..as there can be a mismatch of ptfs,
especially if you are not near current on your ptfs.jumping the levels after
the upgrade can leave some ptfs in a 'limbo' state that makes you fetch the
interim prereq, coreqs and missing ptfs and takes much time and effort
tracking down the problems then downloading the required ptfs and multiple
ipls to put them on in the correct order (a 5+ hour ordeal in my case -- 2
levels of cume were 'jumped'). the recommendation (although it is not
written in the documentation) is to put the same level cume package on
after a M0-M5 upgrade.so if you are putting on a new level of cume my
recommendation would be to put it on before the m5 upgrade and then apply
the same again after you slip the lic to avoid any issues..

Just my .02
