That doesn't quite work.

If I have :

Hello. HowrU. .

I only want to update Field3. That's what I meant when I "wrote without touching any other fields"

You may also use a single select:

Update MyFile
Set Fld1 = Translate(Fld1, ' ', '.'),
Fld2 = Translate(Fld2, ' ', '.'), ....

But for a quick and dirty solution 15 Updates may be faster ;)

Hi,

I can select the records I want to update like this.

Select * from myfile where
field1 = '.' or
field2 = '.' or....
field15 = '.'

There are 15 fields that may contain the value '.'

How can I update any field that contains a '.' to the value '
' without touching any other fields?
