Once you have VT setup, all you would do with GO BACKUPS is replace the
TAP01 with the name of the new virtual tape device TAPVRT01. Then you can
have a CL that moves the image in the IFS via FTP.

Subject: Virtual tape processing

I am just starting design a virtual tape processing for a client. I have
downloaded the V5R4 Virtual tape manual and reviewed parts of it.
I am on V6R1, do not have BRMS nor access to the system using iSeries
navigator. They have setup backups through the GO BACKUP option and would
like to continue to use this option. I don't believe that is possible.

The backup process would be very simple,
Backup to virtual tape and then FTP to an off site location.

Does any one have examples of this type of backup that they would share with
me or a manual that I could review that would assist me creating this backup
procedure.

TIA
