There are two ways to do Authorized Key files, user local or global. If
you are putting users into their own root directory, (Jailed), you can
create the .ssh sub directory and have your authorized key file there.
When the user no longer is granted access you delete the entire
directory. If you put user keys into the system SSH directory
authorized keys file, you can use EDTF to remove the line item. You can
also use Unix/PASE tools to remove it or if you can get to the file via
your PC, Word Pad works. Forget Note Pad.

Is it possible to remove one key from the authorized_keys file?

I can see a situation in the future where someone who is allowed access
today may need to be removed later.
