If you need to have weekly reports, then RTVDSKINF and PRTDSKINF are fine. They will take up some space but once run, that space will stay about the same.

If you need to know when there is a spike in disk usage in real-time, that will not help. Then you need a monitor. A commercial solution you might look at is DASD-Plus Alert at http://www.s4isystems.com/products/diskhunter.asp - I don't work for S4i Systems, but I did write the original version of this product under the name disk/HUNTER. It has almost no impact on your system until it needs to find a problem, then it aggressively records disk usage at the moment. Or at least it used to!! You still need to find a way to notify you when something goes wrong. S4i can certainly help you there. The product used to send messages about the situation, and they are monitorable by things like ROBOT/Console and Bytware's Messenger Plus.

This was a <not verndor response>

Hi
I have to keep track of the AS400 DASD on weekly basis.
For this ,I am thinking of scheduling the PRTDSKINF command on the scheduler to run every Sunday.
I want that this report be emailed to me by the iSeries.
Can someone please help me with the CL Code or any other method for this so that the reports of libraries in decreasing size can be emailed to me.
During its' run time, does this command cause any issue on the AS400 eg Increase in Disk Space etc. Many Thanks
