Again, you didn't grow up with SEU. If you are using I to insert every line - which you did not say directly - then you aren't using SEU as it can be used. Just put an I on the sequence number where you want to start, enter code or a space to keep the line intact, and it will open up the next line for you to type into - just like hitting enter in WDSC. Hey, man, they didn't design WDSC in a vacuum - SEU was in their minds - you can use SEU line commands in WDSC, too.

And if you start typing a command and hit F4, you get all the formatting you want. AND it gives you that extra line, just as it does as I described above.

I am not saying it's better, it's just not as bad as your experience has been. But there is not enough reason for you to investigate, and I understand that. No problem here with that. I just feel a need to confront opinions based on admittedly-limited experience.

Carry on with WDSC! It's a fine IDE. As good as Visual Studio? Not yet, IMO. But they keep working at it.

And I wouldn't use vi for much of anything!! Although I do use TextPad for editing ASP code, albeit with syntax files and the like. It's not bad!!

Seriously?

I hated editing CL in SEU and actually don't mind it in WDSCi. Although 70 lines at a time and color-coding goes a long ways for me. I even use the outline by setting up tags by section (that I never use GOTO on).

While WDSC / RDi / RDp are very good tools, there are still things that PDM is much better at ... editing CL, for instance.

The GUI editors are slow as molasses when it comes to editing CL, but PDM is super fast.
