Charles -

I'm not sure about doing it with SQL, but I wrote an RPGIV program
a few years ago that takes a hex string and computes the number from it.

It would be easy enough to build a UDF to do what you want...

All,

SQL offers the HEX() function to convert a value to a hexadecimal
string representation.

Is there a function that goes the other way, takes the hexadecimal
string representation back to an integer (or bigint)?

Thanks!
Charles
