The main application I am needing to replace is a "broadcast fax/email" application that is on the i. Old fax server read spool files. New fax server.

Problems with other system i based methods:

The user needs to attach PDF files, which probably won't be accessible
to the system i. Yes, the user could move them, but that is another step.

The user needs to know what went, and what failed. Currently the users are very used to their outlook inbox being the place where all correspondence is tracked.

The email tools I have now on the system i, have smaller limits to the number of recipients that can be sent.

I use a wrapper for it called SNDEMAIL (modified). I downloaded that from some magazine's website a decade or so ago. It was written in RPG. Dave Leland wrote it.
Some use JAVAMAIL.
