I have telecommuted for about a decade now. Wouldn't work any other way.
Really hate all that office politics crap and commuting and every thing
about being in an office on a regular basis.


It's physically (mentally) painful to have to sit in an office for more than
a day or so...


The only downside is that I end up putting in way more hours working when
I'm at home than I ever would if I was in an office every day.

It's nothing for me to do 10-14 hour days, several days a week, plus I
often work weekends just because it's right there and I can work when I need
to.

Anyone have a link to any Professional or 'proof' articles regarding the
'environment or setting' required for an IT Developer to get his work done?

I now work one day from home each week, and that is the ONLY day I can truly
say I can get into the huge Analysis/Design/Programming part of my duties.

I am lobbying for more time telecommuting. When at work, and having just a
cubicle, there is NO WAY I can ever get into these development duties. I am
a one man show with 60 PC users, and the worst part is that my boss is
scared to death about a PC being physically down - because my work is 40
miles from my home.
