Just FYI, this was from a news release issued by Penton corporate, and
the quote is from Sharon Rowlands, the CEO of Penton:
"Operationally, nothing will change during this debt restructuring,"
Ms. Rowlands said. "We remain committed to serving our customers
and readers by providing them with the same high quality products
and services we always have. In addition, we have taken steps to
make sure our employees and independent contractors are unaffected
by the Chapter 11 process. Employees will continue to be paid and
receive their benefits without interruption."
The phrase "independent contractors" applies to authors and editors. So
everyone in our community should be paid as usual, and the products will
continue to be published as usual.

The editorial team for System iNetwork has emphasized to me that it will
remain "business as usual."

Penton Media filed bankruptcy.
I'm not sure what exactly this entails for the publications but it's a
sad sign of the times, the economy and our industry.
They've always been one of the premier teams of i talent and I wish them
the best.
