Hello Marc,

When you try to connect to ASMI from Win2k8, what does netstat say for

I'll have to try that later. For now, I was able to get to ASMI from the
serial port in stand-by mode. That was enough to realize that it was not the
tool I needed.

the appropriate MAC address ? Are you sure that no firewall
configuration prevents connection to HMC1 ?

Yes sir, this was a direct peer-to-peer connection with HMC1 and the LAN
port on the win2k8 server. No windows firewall enabled.

I do not know about Windows, but I guess that there is no routing
problem here.

Not entirely sure there yet. The route ARP from the other LAN should not
pass through to the p2p direct attachment. Since I was able to connect at
one point, it must have been some arp route that conflicted with the HMC1
configuration.

Can you connect to ASMI on HMC2, through a direct connection also, with
a PC setup with the appropriate IP configuration ?

I did try that as well, and had the same results.

Thanks!
