Hopefully someone on this list can help me out. I have developed an MS
Access database that is linked to a DB2 table on the iSeries. Every 15
minutes the Access Database displays a form with a pie chart that is
generated from the table on the iSeries. The problem is that the
iSeries

Microsoft has clearly said that they do not recommend Access for any
production work.

Having said that, this issue is not related to System i, since the i is
doing what it should/must (closing the connection during down time). In
your shoes, I would search the usual MS support sites looking for a clean
way to end the connection when you're done, since that would probably solve
the stated problem. Besides introducing this problem, it is irresponsible
to hold a connection live all day long just so you can use it once every
fifteen minutes.
