Yeah, but the wierdness is that you ran through all of the media before you got the error (if I understand your original post correctly). I would have thought you would have gotten a device error on the first CD (which is what I get when I forget to move the media tray resource back to the correct blade).

Glad you figured it out. One for the archives!

The problem was that we had the dvd assigned to the partition that we were
creating via IVM but we did not move it via the AMM module using remote
control and then assign it from one partition to the other.

With V6R1 all you shoud need it the I_BASE 'CD' and the B2924_01 DVD to

Jack,

I have the I_BASE_01 DVD, the B2924_01 and B2924_02 DVD's and that is
it. I had the printed copy of the Media Contents listing and those are
the only DVD's listed.

Perhaps you have some bad media although it still doesn't completely
add
up.

Try Pete M's approach and see what happens I guess.

The last CD on this then is the B2924_02, correct.

I would do a manual IPL back into DST, and you will have an option

Initial load of OS.

Jack,

As you probably know, that is a media read error which doesn't
quite
add
up if it was done reading the media. Is this an initial load of
the
OS?
An upgrade?

I am not familiar enough with the OS loading procedure to know if
the
media error is with the CD or now it can't be read from disk.

Perhaps a call to IBM support? I saw one APAR but it had to do
with
a
network install, which doesn't apply.

After loading the B2924_02 cd and then taking an option 2(no more
installation media) the system hangs with IPL step B6000414, any
suggestions.
