Hello, I've been working w/MQ on our iSeries for several years and it was running when I got here and we rarely have issues with it.

I've created a couple of new queue's over the years but I have a question regarding the ports used for the queue's. We have assigned ports 1417 thru and including 1435...are those the port designations that everyone else is using? Are these port numbers an IBM standard or recommendatin or do I, the customer, simply pick a port that's not being used? Of course, our network folks were involved too but noone knows how we arrived on ports 1417 - 1435.

Also, can several queue's share ports? Is that recommended practice?

Thanks, Frank
