You're right. I'm just too used to having clients insist on 24hr
uptime...force of habit...and I'm too used to iSeries being up round the
clock...

Well, I guess I have seen IBM do maintenance over a weekend on Business
Partner sites and certainly Fix Central has had unadvertised outages.

As a single person shop myself, if I have an OS upgrade or some
extensive maintenance and only one i to run it on (no backup or DR
machine to "cover" for me) then, yeah, I have to inconvenience customers
with an outage.

This is the first time in years that there has been a planned outage on
the Common site to my knowledge. I don't think it reflects badly on
Common OR or the i.

This isn't goodness. Especially for an iSeries group that's touting their
systems as being 24x7x365,etc.
