I think Jon wants a tool to build the INSERT statement
*along*with*the*data*. Kind of like an Oracle 'extract' would do ... or IBM
DB2's 'look ... with data' facility (available on all platforms except i, I
believe).

Ah, I see. Right. So in effect, it would be all of the data in the file, but also with all of the SQL INSERT mumbo-jumbo repeated for every record.

Nowadays isn't that sort of task handled via XML?
