Ok I am just going with using the system API and the MOV command. It
works.

I would give some thought to using the CL program approach instead of the system() API. There are a few reasons why:

a) Special characters in the path names... In particular, if you have any single quotes in the pathnames, they have to be doubled-up with the system() approach. With a CL program, you wouldn't have to.

b) Performance. With a CL program, part of the interpretation of the command string is done at compile-time. With system() you're doing it at run-time.

These considerations may not be an issue in your shop, I don't know. I just wanted to be sure that you had thought about them.
