Late response, but I'm just getting time to catch up again. One reason that there's still an impression that the Qshell db2 utility is provided 'As is':

Note first that the category is under "IBM i", so it's not exactly an old web page. And at the very bottom -- "NOTE: This software is "freeware". IBM does not provide service and support for the db2 utility or Perl script running on the iSeries"

I'd say it's understandable if someone thinks it's not supported.
