Write a program that first parses the IP addresses, then sorts them. Depending on how many IP addresses are to be sorted, you might want to use a heapsort or a quicksort, or you might be fine with even the most primitive form of bubblesort.

Or you could write a program that generates a key, say, a 12-digit zoned decimal number, by parsing each IP address, and puts the addresses into a new file keyed on that 12-digit zoned decimal number.
