With the updates of SNDPTFORD I was going to play with a scheduled
SNDPTFORD that ordered the images, waiting for the message that all had
been downloaded, added the images to the catalog, then send an email to
the admin that everything was waiting to be run. You could take that a
step farther and have the process waiting for a message response from
someone to set the PTF's to apply at IPL but having the system do it
automatically scares me a bit because of the occasional PTF that has
been slipped in without reading the documentation. And then to find out
you have to slip the LIC back in.

I have it in my head, just need time to script it all out....

Subject: Fully automated PTF installation

Hi all,

Is it possible to have a fully automated PTF installation process,
that e.G. could be run weekly, like Windows's autoupdate?

Automating SNDPTFORD etc. seems like a lot of work that would need to
be adjusted every times IBM decides to change something. Is there a
native possiblity?

Regards,

Lukas Beeler
