that's 98% of the time with file changes and LVLCHK(*NO) which is why many
advocate never removing LVLCHK...including me

Coworker here noticed an issue with LVLCHK(*NO). Numeric field added on
the end was filled with bad data by programs that wrote to this file and
had LVLCHK(*NO). Character fields did have blanks though.

Obviously the file was not defined with DDL. :-)
