At this point, the big green label says 520, but doesn't say whether it's a 9405-520 or a 9406-520.

The little labels with the serial numbers call it an 8203-E4A.

It's a rack-mount unit, but for now, it will be run sitting on a benchtop. Initially, maybe a desk in an unused office.

It was not shipped with an HMC. I'm told that it's not LPAR'd.

I've found something called "Quick start guide for i5 520, 525, and 515 (9405-520, 9406-520, 9406-525, and 9407-515)" (sa41517104.pdf), and something called "System i and System p Initial server setup" (iphafbook.pdf).

And I've received confirmation that the general idea is to try and have everything we need to fire it up by the time I return from my vacation.
