In my area, I can't even get IBM to be involved in a user's group.

And now to add some fun to the mix...

All of you consulting folks and people slanging 400s, when was the last
time you tried to actually compete and win new customers away from another
platform versus just milking your old tired cows.

We all want to blame IBoM and rightly so in many cases, but instead of
reading yet another article in IT Jungle about how a machine should be
configured to win small businesses over how about reaching outside the
same circle of people.

In my area I can't even get the IBM partner involved in a users group to
stir interest. It's quite a shame.

Maybe this is the begining of the end... but it's getting old listening to
people still cranking out green screen apps like its 1999 who can't
understand why new customers aren't flocking to the platform.

Now I will go hide from the ensuing flames.

A recent discussion here made some assertions about the future of IBM i
that
several people refuted. A blog entry at IBM Systems Magazine helps us
understand some of the actual truths, as opposed to rumor and speculation.

Of course, someone else decided it was reporting worthy, but changed the
name to protect the histerical.
