I don't think it's expanding &URL...I think what you're sending is:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" &URL

rather than

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"

Can anybody tell me why I can't get this to work using a variable for
the URL? Instead of going to the web site in the &URL variable,
the browser opens up to whatever the home page is set to. If I hard
code the HTTP://...... It will work.

DCL VAR(&URL) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(60)

MONMSG IWS4010
CHGVAR VAR(&URL) VALUE('HTTP://WWW.GOOGLE.COM')
STRPCO PCTA(*NO)

STRPCCMD PCCMD('"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" +
&URL')
