Under "Define result fields", create a field:

Field = COUNTER
Expression = 1
Len = 8
Dec = 0

Use the COUNTER field in your "Select and sequence fields"

Use the Total function (1) for the COUNTER field in "Select report summary
functions"

Use Summary only (2) for the form of output on "Select output type and
output form"

I don't see the COUNT function as being available as a result field
function. Your requirements may have outdone the ability of Query/400.

There are other options available. SQL, Counting in an RPG Program, etc,
etc...

I wrote a query to get an expected result on a purge process I am writing.



I am expecting to purge about 50 million records.



The result of my query was



FINAL TOTALS
COUNT *********



The counter is only 7/0 and I need 8/0.



Where can the counter length be bumped?
