It's the "almost" part that's the problem. I have to convert some old
#GSORT code, and I need the layout of the old S/36 sort specs (every
column of the H, I, and F specs) to determine exactly what the sort is
doing. FMTDTA's specs are similar but there are some differences.

I can't seem to find the information anywhere. I am going nuts or did I
just have the layout memorized 20 years ago? Does anyone still have the
old System/36 Sort manual? Does it even exist, or was the information in
another manual?

TA

Tim,

Look at the manual for the FMTDTA command. The sort specs are almost
identical.

Does anyone know where I can download the old System/36 Sort Reference
manual? I've searched IBM.com, etc. and no soap. I am converting a
bunch
of old System/36 code (RPG II, OCL, #GSORT) and I remember the basics
of
the sort specs but there are a few columns that I'm drawing a blank
on.
I've got the AS/400 Sort User's Guide and Reference, which helps some,
but
there were columns used on the 36 that have been eliminated.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
