Hello everyone,

Hello

Here is a simple question that I have not been able to resolve.

Is here a way to limit the name of a created display device?
Please note that our System value for QDEVNAMING =

Some users have device names like "A", "B", "C" .... "Z", "#",
"@", "$"

I would like to change this.

Instead of allowing "simple names" --- like One Character NAMEs
I would like to ask the users to come up with Two or Three
character Device NAMEs?

I guess you are using Client/iSeries/System i Access, right ?

We are using Personal Communications, therefore I am not sure if the
following applies to iSeries Access 5250 emulation part.
But I know there are very close each other, so you may check
Communication/Configuration menu then session parameters button to
setup the "Workstation Id" which is the device name. Note that generic
names are possible.

Thanks for your responses
