Oooh. I like that. I'm going to try it.

I like having my filters set up like so:

Matches: list:(midrange-l.midrange.com)
Do this: Skip Inbox, Apply label "MIDRANGE-L"

The "skip Inbox" forces an automatic archive of the message so it
doesn't appear in my Inbox, it just show's up under the assigned
label.

So the labels end up working like folders. All the MIDRANGE-L
messages end up under MIDRANGE-L.

Folks:

For those of you using gmail and/or google apps for domains, there is a
pretty cool filtering operator you can use to keep your list mail nicely
organized with labels.

If you setup a filter with the following expression in the "Has the
words" condition: 'list:"midrange-l.midrange.com"', it will match all
messages in the midrange-l list from midrange.com.

From there you can apply a label (such as "midrange-l" and gmail will
automatically categorize your messages.

You can also use the "Filter messages like this" from the drop down list
in the upper right hand corner to create filter automatically.
