It is definitely a 17GB disk in a Raid 5 stripe. I have several boxes with 4+ stripe sets using Model 6718 disks and they're running V5R4 just fine
with that exact same size. I did however need to do the OS prep for load source prior to loading the V5R4 OS onto these disks. There's a java app
that can test your system and "install" the preparation required. The only thing needed is an IPL to set the boot settings for the OS load. You may
want to create a catalog image and install off of that. Installing from the CD's was a horrible pain in the rear, that's why I only did the first one
like that and the rest were all image catalogs for load source.

The software was "i5OS_Pre-upgrade_Verification_Tool" and it's a *.zip style file that houses the java utility from your WinXP workstation. I down
loaded it from IBM and it worked great.

Oooh... Can I play?

My guess is 17.5 in a RAID5 configuration.

Did I win?

Kirk... given your response, is this a 4, 8, 17, or 35 drive?
