Re: IBM i connection to SQL server databases via SQL or RPG

SQL tends to not like CONNECTing to two different databases at the same
time: be it two different DB2 lpars, DB2 and SQL Server or whatever.

So, on your DB2 side you may wish to use RLA (Record Level Access -
traditional RPG or COBOL I/O). Then that can use JDBC to connect to SQL
Server. Numerous magazine articles illuminating JDBC. We contracted with
Joe Pluta years ago to do some JDBC for us to connect to SQL Server. (We
were a bit swamped at the time.) We stopped using the application when we
sold off the division.
