The rationalle is two-fold:
1 - This utility can reduce help desk issues, and who better than the
developer to recognize the potential for the app to reduce workloads? In
larger shops where programmers do not have much/any interaction with the
help desk or end users, this 'benefit' might be negated though.
2 - A couple of the options are more 'power user' oriented, and I like to
think developers should fall into that category.
I can say for certain that the conversation here has definitely been
beneficial and entertaining.
A lot to consider and reconsider...
