Emily,

I see You have already had a few recommendations about X-Analysis in this
thread. I wanted to clarify a few points for you.

The only mildly inaccurate statement made so far has been by Eric where he
said we were pricy. We have a number of different configurations of
X-Analysis depending on what it is that you need to do. From
cross-referencing and analysis and documentation, all the way through to
system reengineering and data model and business rules extraction. So if you
bought everything it would naturally cost more than a basic
cross-referencing tool. The core module of X-Analysis is priced deliberately
to match other products, but even at that level, it delivers much more
functionality and integration than any of the other products. In the last
few years about 30% of new X-Analysis users come from upgrades of these
various other products.

Here is a useful(hopefully) comparison between X-Analysis and other
products:

You can trial the software too:

IBM also did their homework when selecting a partner in this field a few
years ago. There is an IBM Redbook on X-Analysis:

and you can even try X-Analysis on IBM's website Sandbox for i:

Don't hesitate to contact me if you need more info
