I can't answer your question, but just comment that we have a Transition
PowerStar IV active repeater which we use to send Twinax signals over
Ethernet. It splits the port into 7 separate Ethernet ports, so it works
as a star configuration instead of serial/daisy chain. The (few
remaining) devices show in our PRTDEVADR. Even our twinax consoles run
through it and have no problems.

Twinax WSC --> balun --> Ethernet --> PowerStar IV --> patch panel,
cable run --> balun --> Twinax device

Mostly terminals and a couple of matrix (not line) printers.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance,
Loyd

We still have a few twinax line printers here. They are connected to
the System i via an Ethernet patch panel; the twinax control is
connected to the panel with a balun and Ethernet cable.

Pretty rudimentary stuff, I think. My question is: Why, when I run the
PRTDEVADR command these printers do not show up? In fact, the only
thing that shows up in the list is the old system console at port 0
address 0.
