This goes back to the discussion had earlier about the -S option to the ls command and portability. Without rehashing those arguments I think opening a PMR to get IBM to change the behaviour of find to match that of the GNU utils is a good idea. Either that or they start including a 'man' command with man pages in QSH.

I wonder if you can install the GNU utils in QSH, or are they only accessible in PASE?
