MQ Client on the AS400


I have been asked to install the MQ client on one of our AS400's so it can talk to an MQ Server that resides on a Unix box. I downloaded the 6.0 client and followed the installation instructions but no where does the documentation refer to using the MQ Client on the AS400.

I then did some digging and found that I may need the full MQ Server in order to use the MQ Client on the AS400. Does anybody know if that is the case? or where I can get documentation on running the client without the server installed?
