Thanks. Using QRYDST to an outfile, extracting the &LINDID, and using it inside

RCVDST pulls in the eMail. I was elated!

Then I looked at the outfile, and noticed the eMails were all two weeks old.

Nothing recent was in there. Seems like a step is missing to get the new eMails.

Does DST have to be refreshed in some way?

Thanks,

- Dan

AS400 should be eight characters
'S1016345 AS400 0001' what you had
12345678123456781234
'S1016345AS400 0001' what it should be. Notice, 20 characters (8, 8,
4)?
Even then you'd be lucky to get that to work. You might be better off
combining QRYDST with RCVDST. And you may have difficulties if the job
user does not 'AS400'. I think there's issues trying to query other's
distributions. You may have to spawn/submit a job to run under AS400 (not
even just adopted authority).
Send something. Do the QRYDST to an output file and see if it is 0001.

Field Start End Attrib Text
...
LINDID 7 26 A20 Distribution Identifier
...

RCVDST command fails

Good morning!

I am trying to receive a distribution, using RCVDST,
to capture eMail messages (and possibly an attached file).

My format was as such:

RCVDST DSTID('S1016345 AS400 0001')

I am trying to receive the first message set to the AS400 user on the box.

I had this message returned:

Distribution S1016345 AS400 0-001-01 cannot be found.

I do not understand the reference to 0-001-01 above.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
- Dan
