Thanks for the info on F11 - I've never noticed that. Of course, I
usually build different image catalogs for each "set" I'm installing -
Cume, Hiper/DB, Groups. F11 view indicates the first 7 are CUME and
the last 4 appear to be all the groups lumped together so I'll split the
images into two catalogs.

I prefer to do the IPL's as I go to ensure all the pre-req's are
satisfied. Call it old fashioned, but that's how I've always done them
and not had a problem. I just carve out 3-4 hours for system
maintenance on a quiet night that doesn't impact things in Production.
AFTER payroll checks are done ;-))

Probably a cardinal sin but I didn't read all the responses so pardon me
if this is repeated information. I'm not sure what the meaning is on
the volume ID's within the image catalog except for the cume which
should be the same as you would see on the physical media, C8305540_1
through 9 in my case right now. From the WRKIMGCLGE press F11 and
you'll see the volume ID's. On another note, why do you do 3 IPL's to
accomplish this task? You can load and apply, delayed, the groups
including HIPER and DB then load and apply the CUME, delayed, then do
one IPL.

Subject: How can I tell which downloaded PTF image contains whichgroup?

I ordered and downloaded a CUME and several groups. Usually I just wait
for CD's and it's easy to segregate them. My preference has always been
to load the CUME, IPL, then HIPERS & DB, IPL, then Groups, and a final
IPL.

I have 11 CD images downloaded. Is there any way to tell what they are
and separate them? The accompanying text files don't give a clue.

Thanks.
