Hi Mark -

The technical term for this situation is "hosed up."

SI33896 requires these 5 PTFs:

REQ LICENSED PTF/FIX LEVEL
TYPE PROGRAM REL NUMBER MIN/MAX OPTION
---- -------- --- ------- ------- ------
PRE 5722SS1 540 SI32426 NONE 0003
PRE 5722SS1 540 SI28309 NONE 0003
PRE 5722SS1 540 SI23544 00/00 0000
PRE 5722SS1 540 SI27064 00/00 0000
CO 5722SS1 540 SI33895 NONE 0003

SI33895 requires SI33896 and Supersedes SI31060.

SI32426 has 5 more dependencies.

First you need to get SI33895 loaded, nothing else will work until that
is done. In all likelihood you have a mixture of co-dependant PTFs in
various stages. First make sure that you are on the B side: Do DSPPTF
and verify that it says IPL source: ##MACH#B Then I would try doing
a GO PTF, take option 8 and use these options:

Device . . . . . . . . . *SERVICE Name, *SERVICE, *NONE

Automatic IPL . . . . . . N Y=Yes

N=No

Prompt for media . . . . 3 1=Single PTF volume set

2=Multiple PTF volume sets

3=Multiple volume sets and
*SERVICE

With any luck that will get all your co-dependants loaded and in a
consistent state. If you see any messages about damaged PTF's you will
need to fix those first and start over. If you don't have all the
required PFTs in save files on the system you'll probably have to track
down the latest cumulative PTF package and install that.

Using DSPPTF verify that all the PTFs with a status of "Not applied"
have an IPL Action of "Yes". If this is successful the next IPL should
apply your PTFs.

I *HIGHLY recommend installing PTFs in groups and packages rather than
trying to pick and choose individual PTFs to load and apply. That path
will only lead to grief.

Good Luck!

Mark,

Read the message carefully is it asking for SI31060 to be
Perm applied first? I have seen that before. The message will tell

you
that.

Also, have you tried doing a APYPTF *ALL *TEMP DELAY(*YES)
and
doing
an IPL and seeing if it will apply during an IPL?
