Easiest way is to get this information directly from QHST. You can see the
time the job Entered the system (got on the Queue), and the time the job
starts (gets off the queue and into the subsystem). The difference between
the two messages for every job is how long it waited in the queue.

Subject: Tracking the average time jobs are waiting in the queue

All,

Look for a way to track the average time our jobs are waiting in a
couple of specific JOBQs to run.

Is anybody aware of a tool/package that would give me this?

And/or any thoughts on how to get the data myself; the List Job
(QUSLJOB) API is one obvious starting point.

Thanks!

Charles Wilt
