I bill for all the hours I'm working and just the hours I'm working,
and I throw in an extra half hour off the clock cause I know I spend
at that much time talking about the weather or the Super Bowl or
whatever. I don't participate in the office birthday parties and such
- I'm not an employee, I'm a consultant. I agree...I want my clients
calling me because they know they get good results at a good value.

As a consultant, I want the return business and will only bill for
hours I work and will give a full hour's work for those I bill.

If you bill by the hour, do you try to prolong/stretch the project as long
as possible so as to earn more money?
Is your approach to your work different on fixed bid projects than it is on
billable hour projects?
