The direct download from Sun just initiates the same download/install
as the update does. It still breaks Fix Central. I get the following
error message when Fix Central is trying to connect to the i and match
what fixes I currently have installed;

java.lang.RuntimeException: updateConfig()
\\titan\home\jessinger\fixcentral\eccConnect.properties Requesting
exclusive lock: true
\\titan\home\jessinger\fixcentral\eccConnect.properties.lck (The
process cannot access the file because another process has locked a
portion of the file) Please view the console for details.

Any clues would be helpful.

Thanks

Jim

Ok, I installed the update and it broke again. Uninstalled that update and I can get fixes. I am going to download the install from Sun, and install it that way to see if there is a difference.

Yesterday I downloaded for 3 different machines, all on V5R4. I did NOT have to kill the browser between downloads.

I guess I will try the update again and see if it breaks my downloads.

My current beef with Fix Central is after I download one set of ptf's I
have to kill the browser session and start a new one to order more ptf's.
IBM is aware of the problem from others experiencing it also.
