I am trying to use this. This is where I get the SQL error. It does use
the
names in Row 1 just fine. You can save the transfer. If I could only get
past
this SQL error it looks like it would work.

Gary -

Please indicate what SQL error that is occurring.

I suspect that the problem is that you have mixed numeric and alpha values
in one or more columns of the worksheet. For example, one of my clients was
having difficulty when uploading an Excel sheet to an IBM i file because
some of the item numbers were numeric and others were alphanumeric.

The database field that it was uploading to is an alphanumeric (character)
field.

I wrote a macro that traversed through the item number column and changed
all of the item numbers that were numeric to alpha by putting an '
(apostrophe) in the first position of the cell value. Once all cells were
reformatted as character values, the upload was successful.
