Turn it all off, then turn on printer before print server. If that does
not work, can you print directly attached to the printer? If so, the
printer server is dead, but you can try the printer server with another
printer to confirm. If you cannot print directly attached to the
printer, then it's interface died. Try resting to factory defaults and
start from scratch to configure the printer to work with the print
server.

First step is to determine if the printer server or the printer is at
fault.

Subject: Print server prints gibberish

I have an AXIS 540 print server connected to an IBM 6400 printer and
it's sending out gibberish. That is, test pages and configuration pages
from the print server itself print dollar signs and random letters with
some over-striking of characters. Spooled files print the same way.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? It used to work just fine.
